Qualifications are as followed: BSW or related field, plus one (1) year experience required. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited education institution, which has U.S. Department of Education approval. Knowledge of local community, resources, child development, and preferred Head Start experience. Home Visitor - Under the Supervision of the Manager of Child Health and Development, and in coordination with the Health/Nutrition Coordinator the Early Head Start Home Visitor will provide for the physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth and development of infants and toddlers in the home based setting and during center-based socialization experiences. The Early Head Start Home Visitor will work with parents and families to develop, plan, model and implement positive early childhood experiences in the home and center based setting; ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) developmentally appropriate practice for infants and toddlers. Qualifications are as followed: Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Documentation of twelve semester hours of early childhood coursework including infant and toddler courses. Complete and acquire an Infant-Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential within two years of employment. Have at least two years of experience working in an Early Childhood setting or working directly with low-income families. Valid driver’s license. Excellent written and oral communication, computer programs and office technology skills. Ability to develop a weekly itinerary for completing home visits, socializations and manages multitasks simultaneously. At least one year of clinical training or experience in a community mental health, outpatient or hospital environment. Training and experience in providing clinical assessments (including crisis interventions) and in providing outpatient psychotherapy with a diverse range of clientele. Demonstrated competence in providing culturally-sensitive interventions to individuals from all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups. Strong organizational skills required, as well as the ability to coordinate and manage several tasks simultaneously. Interest in mentoring master’s and doctoral level trainees. Interest and skill in networking and providing community outreach services. Basic computer skills including ability to use Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
